Smiles Hollywood Style Orthodontics is holding its annual Candy Harvest again this November.

Each year, Dr. Stephanie Crise and Dr. Jessica Downs ask the residents of McKinney to donate their Halloween Candy to the Candy Weigh Station at Smiles Hollywood Style Orthodontics, which is next door to Dowell Middle School.

For every pound of candy that is “harvested,” Dr. Crise donates $5 to The Samaritan Inn. Last year, a check for $610 (that’s 122 pounds of candy!) was presented to The Samaritan Inn, and the candy was donated throughout the community. The Candy Harvest runs Monday, Nov. 3 through Monday, Nov. 10 during office hours. Every child who donates gets a prize. The person who donates the most candy by weight wins a $25 gift card to Target.

“Each year we try to break the previous year’s record,” said Dr. Crise. “Every little bit helps The Samaritan Inn, and besides, our patients aren’t supposed to be eating all that candy! We ask them to please remember to brush too!”
