Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – McKinney is pleased to announce that our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has received designation as a Level III Facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Baylor Scott & White McKinney is the first hospital in Collin County to achieve this designation.
Baylor Scott & White – McKinney offers a comprehensive Women and Children’s service line including maternity services, couplet care, and an advanced Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The NICU combines advanced technology and highly trained healthcare professionals to provide specialty care for the tiniest patients.
The NICU at Baylor Scott & White – McKinney offers all private rooms, demonstrating a family-centered care philosophy and allowing for increased family interaction with their baby and the healthcare providers. The NICU is equipped with centralized monitoring, SONICU (a monitor to manage sound levels to improve the healing environment for the most fragile patients) and advanced equipment and technology.
Baylor Scott & White – McKinney was designated as a Baby Friendly hospital in May 2017, becoming the first hospital in the BSWH system to obtain this coveted designation. We are also a designated member of the Texas 10 Step Program, which is endorsed by the Texas Medical Association, the World health Organization and the United Nations’ Children’s Fund’s as a bundle of evidence-based practices proven to increase breastfeeding exclusivity and duration. Also, in 2016, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit received the Guardian of Excellence Award from Press Ganey as recognition for achieving excellence in patient experience.
