The McKinney Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual Senior Symposium event at First Baptist McKinney on Friday, October 13 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The free event is organized by the Senior Service Alliance (SSA) which is a program of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. Members of SSA represent various types of businesses such as home health, long-term care, assisted living, financial planning and insurance.
Committee Chair, Sherry Christiaens noted, “Last year’s event was an overwhelming success, and the attendees were thrilled to learn that we would be providing this educational forum again. Space is limited so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.”
Seniors and caregivers will have the opportunity to meet exhibitors and ask questions about their products and services. In addition, there will be informational breakout sessions throughout the day. Breakout sessions will include discussions from industry experts on topics such as Prescription Safety & Sensibility, Brain Fitness, Fraud Prevention, Medicare 101, Life After Retirement and Sex Ed for Seniors.
“The Chamber connects businesses and organizations to our community. We’re proud to host an event where seniors and adult children of seniors can find the information and resources they need,” said McKinney Chamber President Lisa Hermes. “We appreciate the businesses who are sponsoring this event including our title sponsor, Legends Assisted Living and Memory Care and lunch sponsor Grand Brook Memory Care.”
In addition to valuable information about products and services and the opportunity to learn from industry experts, there will be raffles, prizes, giveaways and boxed lunches to the first 200 people who register. Register at McKinneyChamber.com/SSAsymp.
