Plano 28, McKinney High 7

McKinney lost to Plano, 28-7, Thursday night at Ron Poe Stadium in the district opener for both teams.

The Wildcats (5-1, 1-0) jumped out to a 14-0 lead early and led, 21-0, at halftime.

Plano's Brandon Stephens rushed for over 250 yards and a touchdown.

Tyree Johnson scored the lone touchdown for the Lions (3-3, 0-1) on a 2-yard run in the third quarter.

McKinney North 48, Lovejoy 45

McKinney North knocked off District 13-4A defending champion Lovejoy, 48-45, Friday at Ron Poe Stadium.

Ronald Jones rushed for 324 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1). Quarterback Ben Dutze added another 100 yards rushing for North.

Lovejoy (3-3,1-2) missed a 38-yard field goal in the game's final minute.

McKinney Boyd 42, Plano West 21

Meanwhile, Boyd kicked off district play with a 42-21 road win over Plano West.

Dedrick Scrivens rushed for 265 yards and five touchdowns for the Broncos. Quarterback Curtis Ladd threw for over 100 yards and a touchdown.

Boyd (3-3, 1-0) jumped to a 21-0 lead before the Wolves (4-2, 0-1) got on the board just before halftime.
