School Celebrates Athlete Before He Commits to Take Talents to Duke University

Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) honored senior Jeremiah Lewis, of Carrollton, with a commitment ceremony. Lewis will sign a Letter of Intent to play football at Duke University on Dec. 22, 2017.

“Jeremiah is a quiet leader in the locker room, on the football field, and in our school,” said PCA’s Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Chris Cunningham. “But he leads consistently all the time. He demonstrates commitment to his team, his teammates, his friends and his family. Duke is getting a great, established student athlete!”

Lewis has started for the Lions since his freshman year and played for a TAPPS State Championship title in three of those years. As a starter, Lewis has been a major contributor to the team winning State Championships in 2015 and 2017. The Lions’ record in the four years that Lewis has played varsity football is 44-10.

As a junior, Lewis was 1st Team All-District Secondary and 2nd Team All-District Receiver. Also in 2016, he was named 2nd Team All-State as a defensive back. This year, as a senior and team captain, Lewis was named 1st Team All-District Secondary and Receiver. He is the only player in the district to receive 1st Team honors on both the offensive and defensive sides!

“I have had such peace and confidence about Jeremiah being on this team these past four years,” said Cunningham. “If we needed him to do something, he would be there. We are really going to miss him.”
