The 2013 season for the three McKinney ISD high schools began on Aug. 29-30.

McKinney North 34, Carrollton Newman Smith 17

North opened its season with a win on Thursday at Ron Poe Stadium.

Bulldogs running back Ronald Jones scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns as McKinney North built its lead to 34-10.

JoMarr Davis returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter to give McKinney North a 10-0 lead.

Mansfield Legacy 38, McKinney High 28

McKinney High dropped its opener to Mansfield Legacy on Friday. Lions quarterback Brian Sutter threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns.

TV Williams and Marcus Cross each had a touchdown catch for McKinney.

Mesquite Horn 55, McKinney Boyd 36

Boyd also came up short, falling to Mesquite Horn in a game that was tight through three quarters.  Dedrick Scrivens rushed for over 200 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Broncos.

Boyd led, 24-21, at halftime.
