McKinney High School
McKinney knocked off Plano East, 24-12, on Thursday to even its district record at 1-1 and improve to 5-2 on the season.
Plano East fell to 0-2 in district play, with a season mark of 4-2.
Lions quarterback Robert Somborn threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns. His 40-yard TD toss to Connor Fuentes, and 2-point conversion run by Red Shannon, gave McKinney a 22-6 fourth-quarter lead.
Shannon also scored two touchdowns and returned a Plano East 2-point try 98 yards for 2 McKinney points.
Running back Tommy Candela, back in the lineup after suffering a broken collarbone last month, led McKinney with 130 yards rushing.
McKinney Boyd High School
The Broncos rallied to nip Plano, 15-14, on Friday, improving their district record to 2-0. Plano falls to 1-1 in district play.
Brian Driskell's 55-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter provided the winning margin for Boyd.
Jared Symmank booted a 40-yard field goal to give the Broncos a 9-7 halftime lead.
Boyd meets Allen next Friday at Ron Poe Stadium in McKinney.
McKinney North High School
The Bulldogs fell to Wylie on Friday, 35-20, dropping their district mark to 1-3.
Wylie quarterback Carson Cook threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns, as Wylie evened its district record at 2-2.
Trailing, 28-10, in the third quarter, North rallied for 10 straight points, including a 70-touchdown pass from Ben Dutze to Evan Jones and a field goal by Will Ashun, his second of the night.
The Bulldogs travel to face winless Greenville next Friday.
