For the third year in a row the McKinney varsity boys lacrosse team won its district playoff, defeating Prosper by a score of 10-7. The varsity team is now headed to the regional playoff tournament in Austin, seeded No. 3 in the North Division.

They play TMI (San Antonio Division, seeded No. 2) on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. If they win Saturday, they will play the winner of Magnolia (seeded No. 4 in the South Division) and Westlake (seeded No. 1 in the Central Division). That game will be on Sunday at 11 a.m. The winner of that matchup will proceed to the Division II State Semifinals the following weekend in Allen.

The girls varsity squad, the 2015 Division II State Champions, qualified for the highly competitive Division I State Tournament this year. The girls finished third in the North Division and received the eighth seed in the state tournament. They will play the No. 1 seed St. John’s Mavericks on Saturday, May 7 to begin their D1 State Championship run.

These girls and coaches have worked very hard to reach this level against the best lacrosse teams in Texas. Fan support has helped them make it this far, so please keep cheering them on. Come out Saturday at 8:30 a.m. to support your Varsity Girls at Coppell Middle School North in Coppell.

McKinney Lacrosse is very proud of our varsity teams and want to thank the entire McKinney community for their support.
