FC Dallas Foundation Field Ground-Breaking Ceremony will be held on March 5 at 4 p.m. at the Bataan Center in Dallas. Hunt Sports Group Chairman Clark Hunt, Councilwoman Monica Alonzo and Mayor Pro Tem Pauline Medrano are expected to speak during dedication ceremony.

In a mission to provide a safe playing environment and facilitate healthy lifestyles for children, the FC Dallas Foundation will build a soccer field at the Bataan Center in West Dallas.

Upon its completion the FC Dallas Foundation Field will be owned and operated by the West Dallas Community Centers, a predominantly Hispanic West Dallas area that is home to over 25,000 residents in a 10.8 mile radius. The 6,000 square foot fenced turf soccer field will be a modified replica of the Freddy Field at Maple Lawn Elementary, which the Foundation helped to build in 2011.

By partnering with City and Community leaders, local businesses and organizations such as the Pro Players Foundation, the FC Dallas Foundation Field is slated to open in the spring of 2013.
