InTouch Credit Union has been sponsoring the Batter Up for Banking season held at selected local Texas branches during the summer. This unique youth financial literacy program features the opportunity for the public to meet, have fun and learn money management skills with Frisco RoughRiders players.
This Saturday, Aug. 3, the event comes to the InTouch Credit Union branch in McKinney, located at 6375 Eldorado Parkway. It will run from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will feature appearances by RoughRiders players and/or mascots who will be available for photos or autographs. Financial workbooks and coloring sheets for ages 0-10 and 11-18 will be provided to attendees. Other giveaways include the chance to win tickets to an upcoming RoughRiders game. Donuts, coffee and orange juice will be available and all event activities are free of charge.
The RoughRiders are the Class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers; their home games are held at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. The RoughRiders have boasted the highest minor league attendance of any team throughout the minor leagues every season since 2005.
The Credit Union launched this program due in part to the overwhelming success of their Bank to Achieve basketball program, which featured branch visits by players from Dallas Mavericks’ D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends, for the past two seasons.
ITCU is proud to be a corporate partner of the RoughRiders, now in their 11th season at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Additionally, the ballpark’s InTouch Grille, located in the Founder’s Members ticketholder level, has been renovated this season to feature an updated menu and ice cream sundae bar.
There will be one more Batter Up for Banking event held this year – Saturday, Aug. 24 at the ITCU branch in Plano, located at 2201 McDermott Road.
“InTouch Credit Union enjoys and values its partnership with the Frisco RoughRiders. This relationship has provided several wonderful sponsorship opportunities that support community residents of all ages. In this latest endeavor of Batter Up for Banking, we look forward to assisting the youth of Collin County to enhance their knowledge of financial literacy. We cannot think of a better way to give back to those who have given us so much,” said Diane Gerstner, Executive Vice President of InTouch Credit Union.
