This April, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church welcomed The Reverend Perry E. Mullins as their new rector. St. Peter’s is a 141-year-old historic church with a heart for the Gospel and outreach and a love for music and the arts. It is a lively place for families to call home. Fr. Perry hopes to further the mission and ministry of St. Peter’s for the building up of the people of McKinney.
Father Mullins grew up in Plano at a small, tightknit Episcopal Church and discerned his calling to the priesthood in college while working as a youth minister. He met his wife, Sarah, while studying at The University of Texas at San Antonio, and they were married just weeks after graduation. Afterward, they moved to Austin, where Perry began his studies at the Seminary of the Southwest. After graduation from seminary, they moved back to Dallas where Father Mullins was ordained in 2014. He has been serving at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Dallas since then. Perry and Sarah have a 1-year-old son, Lucas, and a dog named Sadie. Sarah works in advertising at McAfee, and enjoys photography in her spare time. They love going to movies and trying new restaurants, and Father Mullins enjoys Rangers baseball, cooking, and hiking. They are very excited about being a part of the St. Peter’s family and about putting down roots in McKinney.
