McKinney REALTOR® Leslie Remy and a McKinney couple are scheduled to begin filming an episode of HGTV’s “House Hunters”, on July 28, 2018.
The show, which is one of the top-rated shows on the Home & Garden Television network, is a real estate reality show that “takes viewers behind the scenes as individuals, couples and families learn what to look for and decide whether or not a home is meant for them,” according to the show’s website. Focusing on the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home, each episode shows the process of searching for, and then ultimately selecting, a home.
In an interview, Remy said she and her buyers, Jacob and Anna Bentrude, have been working closely with the network to feature their story. “We’ve been in contact with the network and have had success during each stage of their casting, interview, and approval process,” says Remy. After a series of phone interviews and video submissions, she learned that she and the Bentrudes would be on an episode.
Remy’s clients, a young couple from Utah, hired Remy to help them find a home in McKinney after relocating to be closer to family. Jacob, a sales representative, and Anna, a dance instructor, are specific that they want to live in McKinney. Jake wants a home with a study and a large backyard, while Anna wants a newer or recently updated home that is close to her family in McKinney. Remy will show the couple properties with features that appeal to both of them in various locations around town.
The show travels lightly by sending out a camera crew, audio crew, and a director. “We are so excited to begin filming,” says Remy. During the five day shoot, Remy and the Bentrudes are expecting long days of filming, generally lasting 10+ hours each day. “The show is not scripted, but I’ve been told each camera shot will need to be right,” says Remy.
Remy and her brokerage are well known for their expertise in advertising their clients’ listing videos on social media. “Since I’m constantly filming Guided Video Tours of my clients’ listings, as well as our unique Monthly Market Updates, I’m pretty comfortable being in front of the camera lens,” Remy says.
In addition to the coverage of Remy, the Bentrudes, and the prospective houses, the sights and sounds of McKinney will be prominently featured in the episode.
Once filming is complete, the show is expected to air in approximately 4-6 months, depending on HGTV’s postproduction timeline.
