McKINNEY (July 21, 2014) — The McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has announced the roster of artists featuring events, concerts and performances in its 2014-2015 season.
Headline acts include singer-songwriter country music artist Clint Black, the award-winning Bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent, and a jazz-singing Molly Ringwald, famous for iconic films The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink, who will all take to the stage of the Courtroom Theater of MPAC, located at the former Collin County Courthouse in the center of Historic Downtown McKinney.
Other notable acts include the U.S. Army Field Band, MatheMagic!, The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra and The Peking Acrobats.
In addition to these exciting performances, MPAC will continue to host the popular Friday Night Flicks movie series, as well as High Noon on the Courthouse Lawn events during the month of September, October, April and May.
MPAC will also host the first annual McKinney Classic Film Festival in September 2015, with courtroom themed screenings of films including To Kill a Mockingbird, Twelve Angry Men, Inherit the Wind, Adam’s Rib and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Mary Badham, the actress who played “Scout” in To Kill a Mockingbird, is scheduled to conduct a post-screening discussion.
