McKinney Community Concerts is starting off the new year with a bang, straight from Music City. On Saturday, Jan. 10, MCCA is proud to present “Evening in the Round,” an intimate night of acoustic music, starring three of Nashville’s most talented singer/songwriters. Grammy Award winner Linda Davis and hit songwriters Lang Scott and Bill Whyte will entertain MCCA’s 800+ audience with hits, humor and a lot of down-home appeal. Click here for a preview of the concert.

Davis won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration with Reba McEntire in their No. 1 recorded duet “Does He Love You.” Meanwhile, Scott has long been one of Nashville’s most consistent and sought-after songwriters and toured with McEntire, Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers and others. After Scott married Davis in 1984, they settled in Nashville with their two children, one of whom, Hillary Scott, has made it big in show business as one-third of the Grammy Award-winning group, “Lady Antebellum.”

Whyte adds a unique presentation of funny and twisted songs which make him a favorite everywhere he entertains. His song “I’m Goin’ Ugly Early Tonight” is the perfect howling climax for his stand-up/singing routine. Whyte’s other career is that of a morning radio personality in some major Midwestern cities, which has earned him many awards, including CMA’s Best Large Market Personality. CDs and other items will be on sale, and autographs and photos with the performers are available after the family-friendly concert.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at McKinney Community Concerts’ excellent venue, Christ Fellowship, located at 2801 Orchid Dr. in McKinney. The best deal is for new “extended” memberships available Saturday for $155 for 11 world-class concerts, which includes the last four this winter/spring plus seven concerts in the 2015-2016 season.
