McKINNEY (July 1, 2015) — The McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has announced Southern rock-soul singer Marc Broussard will headline its summertime Downtown Music Series. The series includes three must-see concerts on the stage of the unique Courtroom Theater of MPAC, located at the former Collin County Courthouse in the center of Historic Downtown McKinney.

  • Marc Broussard, Friday, July 17, 8 p.m.

Singer-songwriter Marc Broussard dazzles audiences with his signature fusion of Southern rock, funk and blues. He is known for hits like “Home” and “Must Be the Water” and released his most recent album, A Life Worth Living, in 2014. Broussard has been a featured performer on many TV programs including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Tickets are $35.

  • Light Crust Doughboys, Saturday, Aug. 22, 6:30 p.m.

The Light Crust Doughboys trace their heritage back to 1931 when the band was founded by the “King of Western Swing,” Bob Wills. After several incarnations and a declaration by the Texas Legislature as the "official music ambassadors of the Lone Star State," the Doughboys can be found playing a new type of country jazz influenced by the old Western swing classics at venues across the Metroplex. Tickets are $25.

  • The Hunts, Friday, Sept. 18, 8 p.m.

The Hunts are an indie folk band of seven siblings from Chesapeake, Va. The multi-talented band writes and composes all of their music and members play the violin, acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, mandolin, accordion, ukulele and piano. The Hunts’ debut album Those Younger Days, featuring “Valentina,” was released June 9. Tickets are $20.

A Downtown Music Series package that includes tickets to all three shows is available through July 17 for $65.20. Reserved tickets for individual shows are available for purchase online at mckinneyperformingartscenter.org, at MPAC, 111 N. Tennessee St. or by calling MPAC’s Emerson Ticket Office at 214-544-4630. The Downtown Music Series is part of MPAC’s 2014-15 Season supported by Emerson Process Management Regulator Technologies.
