McKinney will kick off a Cultural Music Series starting Saturday, May 4. The free outdoor concert series runs on four Saturdays – May 4, May 11, June 8 and June 15 – with each concert beginning at 6 p.m. at various McKinney Parks.
The lineup includes a Cinco de Mayo Festival on May 4, Lara Latin Jazz Band on May 11, AM Jazz Band on June 8 and Juneteenth in the Park on June 15. Admission and parking are free for all four events.
Concert attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs or a picnic basket, but alcohol is not allowed in city parks. The Cultural Music Series is a collaborative effort of the McKinney Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department.
