Local Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Awards Scholar Student Money for College
At the McKinney Education Foundation Awards Night Monday, May 14, the John Abston Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution awarded their annual $1000 scholarship to Camille Alam, a McKinney public school senior. The scholarship was awarded by NSDAR members Karen Thompson and Anneliese Griego. The criteria used to select the award winner are a written essay, strong grades, service, leadership, teamwork, and input from the McKinney Education Foundation. Camille plans to attend the University of Texas-Austin this fall, and plans to major in history. Congratulations to Camille for her hard work, and best of luck in college!
