The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise presented $4,000 to Melanie Perkins, executive director of the McKinney Education Foundation, on Thursday.

The presentation by Rotary President Stacey Kemp was made at the weekly breakfast meeting of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise at Eldorado Country Club.

The funds will be used to provide four scholarships at $1,000 each to eligible graduating seniors from McKinney North, McKinney Boyd or McKinney High Schools this spring.

Eligible students who are sons and daughters, grandchildren or great–grandchildren of Sunrise Rotarians will be given priority as well as those students who have served in their high school Interact Club or attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp.

The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise generates its fundraising for local and global projects through the sale of flag leases in McKinney. The McKinney Education Foundation is one of several beneficiaries of the club’s annual fundraiser.

The Scholarship Awards Night for McKinney ISD graduating seniors will be Friday, May 18 at Christ Fellowship Church. Scholarship recipients will be notified via email in the next two weeks if their application was selected to receive a scholarship.

It’s not too late to give a scholarship to a deserving college-bound MISD graduate! Call the MEF office at 469-742-6313 or visit www.mmeeff.com for more information about the McKinney Education Foundation.
