Kaeden Markham rushed for four touchdowns and nearly 150 yards Friday to lead Boyd past Plano East. The Broncos (3-3, 2-2) trailed 15-7 at halftime before scoring 20 unanswered points in the third quarter. An interception by Braydon Webb and a successful onside kick fueled Boyd's rally.

Broncos quarterback Grant Restmeyer completed 16-of-20 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Stephen Driskell caught the 19-yard TD throw and had five catches for a team-high 57 yards. Plano East quarterback Miklo Smalls threw for over 200 yards and one touchdown to lead the Panthers (4-1, 2-1). He also rushed for 90 yards and TD.

Boyd has a bye this week and will face Plano on Friday, Oct. 16.

 

Denison 35, McKinney 13

Denison quarterback Hunter Watson threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Yellowjackets (3-2, 1-1) over McKinney Friday. Steven Waggoner had a game-high 11 catches for Denison, totaling 165 yards.

The Lions (2-3, 0-2) trailed 28-6 at the half and lost three fumbles on the night. Matt Gadek and Walker Torrain scored rushing touchdowns for McKinney.

The Lions host winless Sherman Friday at Ron Poe Stadium.
