McKinney ISD officials visited the grand opening of Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts in McKinney on Thursday to present a plaque in appreciation of the store’s participation in the McKinney ISD Partners in Education program.

Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts recently donated $2,000, which will benefit the students of Vega Elementary School.

McKinney ISD Superintendent Dr. J.D. Kennedy was joined by MISD Chief Financial Officer Edd Bigbee, Vega Elementary School Assistant Principal Wendy Cottam and Partners in Education Specialist Nancy Cowlishaw in presenting the plaque to Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts Store Manager Gretchen Eishen.

The cooperative effort and support of businesses like Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts play an important role in helping McKinney ISD achieve education at its highest level, the McKinney ISD said in a news release.
