With college applications at an all-time high, the Destination College department at Collin College will highlight what colleges are looking for at the “Building Your Depth: The Top 10 Things Colleges Want in an Applicant” workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Preston Ridge Campus Conference Center in Frisco (9700 Wade Blvd.).
This seminar will provide an inside look at the 10 most important components students need to demonstrate in order to compete today with other "echo boomers" applying to college, and explain the role each plays in a college's decision to consider students for admission. Additionally, students will learn how to apply academic interests, unique talents and personal passions in ways that will build depth as an individual.
While the workshop is free, registration is required. To register, visit collin.edu/destinationcollege. For questions, call 972-377-1772.
Destination College is a Collin College initiative that helps high school students and their parents to get ready for college, no matter which institution they choose.
