As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of McKinney of the following closure:

White Avenue to be Closed Tuesday Night, May 12, Between the Southbound Frontage Road and Community Avenue

Weather permitting, TxDOT will close White Avenue between the U.S. 75 southbound frontage road and Community Avenue from 8 p.m. Tuesday night until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning to install an underground storm sewer pipe across White Avenue. During the closure, access to and from the Westcreek Ranch Apartments will only be available by Community Avenue.

White Avenue to be Closed Wednesday Night, May 13, Under U.S. 75

Weather permitting, TxDOT will close White Avenue directly under U.S. 75 from 6 p.m. Wednesday night, May 13, until 6 a.m. Thursday morning to allow bridge construction to continue. The U.S. 75 main lanes and frontage roads are scheduled to remain open during this time. During the closure, drivers can cross U.S. 75 at U.S. 380 and Virginia Parkway.

As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.

Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
