McKINNEY (May 14, 2014) — Weather permitting, beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 through 6 a.m. May 15, all southbound mainlanes of U.S. 75 (Central Expressway) and the southbound frontage road will be closed to finish demolition of the west side of the Eldorado Parkway bridge.

Southbound traffic will exit at Eldorado Parkway and drive south on Craig Drive back to the frontage road to re-enter US 75 mainlanes. Click here to view a map of the detour area (.pdf).

This work was previously scheduled for Tuesday night but has been rescheduled due to the weather.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route.

As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is now anticipated to be complete in January 2016.

Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
