As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of the following closures, weather permitting:
- Southbound U.S. 75 main lanes closed from Friday night, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. until Saturday morning, Sept. 12 at 5 a.m.
TxDOT plans to close the U.S. 75 southbound main lanes from Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. until Sept. 12 at 5 a.m. to switch traffic to accommodate the entrance ramp closure mentioned below. During the closure, southbound drivers will exit the main lanes to the frontage road just north of U.S. 380 then re-enter the main lanes south of White Avenue. Delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
- Southbound U.S. 75 entrance ramp south of U.S. 380 to be closed from Sept. 11 to Oct. 12
TxDOT plans to close the southbound U.S. 75 entrance ramp south of U.S. 380 from Friday, Sept. 11 to Monday, Oct. 12 to allow construction in the area to continue. During the closure, southbound drivers can continue on the frontage road to the next entrance ramp located south of White Avenue. Delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.
