As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of the following overnight closures needed to install new overhead signs, all weather permitting. Delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

  • Northbound U.S. 75 Main Lanes at Eldorado Parkway: Closed from 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Northbound drivers will take the Eldorado Parkway exit to the frontage road to the entrance ramp south of Virginia Parkway.

  • Northbound U.S. 75 Main Lanes from Virginia Parkway to U.S. 380: Closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Northbound drivers will take the Virginia Parkway exit to the frontage road to the entrance ramp north of U.S. 380.

  • SRT Ramp to Northbound U.S. 75: Closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

Northbound drivers will be directed to the SRT frontage road to the U.S. 75 northbound frontage road to the entrance ramp south of Virginia Parkway.

  • Southbound U.S. 75 Main Lanes from U.S. 380 to Eldorado Parkway: Closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, until 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

Southbound drivers will take the U.S. 380 exit to the frontage road to the entrance ramp south of Ridgeview Drive in Allen.

 

TxDOT has also informed the City of the following additional overnight closures needed to install new underpass lighting, weather permitting. Delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

  • Virginia Parkway under U.S. 75: Closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

During the closure, drivers can cross U.S. 75 at White Avenue and Park View Avenue.

  • White Avenue under U.S. 75: Closed from 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, until 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.

During the closure, drivers can cross U.S. 75 at U.S. 380 and Virginia Parkway.

As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016. Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
