As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of the following closures:

  • Southbound U.S. 75 Exit Ramp to Eldorado Parkway Closed Wednesday, Oct. 7

Weather permitting, TxDOT tentatively plans to close the U.S. 75 exit ramp to Eldorado Parkway located just south of Virginia Parkway from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on, Wednesday, Oct. 7, to install metal beam guard fence. During the closure, drivers can exit to Virginia Parkway. The U.S. 75 main lanes and frontage roads will remain open throughout the day.

  • Virginia Parkway under U.S. 75 Closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 until 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9

Weather permitting, TxDOT tentatively plans to close Virginia Parkway directly under U.S. 75 from 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, until 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, to allow work in the area to continue. During the closure, drivers can cross U.S. 75 at White Avenue and Park View Avenue. Delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.

As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.
