MELISSA (Jan. 30, 2015) — Weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation has announced that north and southbound mainlanes on U.S. 75 will be closed between Davis Road and SH 121 beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 through 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.
This closure is needed for the demolition of the existing SH 121 bridge. Detours will be marked.
Northbound: Traffic will exit to northbound SH 121 (exit 45) and continue on SH 121 for 1.16 miles to SH 5 north. Traffic will continue on SH 5 for 3.5 miles to the Collin County Outer Loop, turn left (westbound) onto Collin County Outer Loop, and continue for 1.17 miles back to northbound U.S. 75.
Southbound: Traffic will exit at Davis Road (exit 44) and continue on the southbound frontage road going through the Telephone Road and FM 543 intersections without stopping. Traffic can then enter southbound U.S. 75 north of Bloomdale Road.
Backups are expected and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.
