McKINNEY (June 24, 2015) — Weather permitting, northbound and southbound U.S. 75 will be closed between Virginia Parkway and Eldorado Parkway to install signs on the Eldorado Parkway bridge. The closures will begin at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 and lanes will re-open at 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 25.
Traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads. Northbound traffic will exit at exit 39A and re-enter the highway near Rockhill Road (before Virginia Parkway).
Southbound traffic will also exit at 39A and re-enter the highway at the entrance ramp south of Ridgeview Drive.
Detours will be marked and local police will assist with the lane closures and directing traffic. Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
Backups are expected and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.
