As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of the following closure:

U.S. 75 Bridge Work Causes Nightly Road Closures This Month

Weather permitting, TxDOT will demolish the U.S. 75 main lane bridges over Wilson Creek in McKinney this month. The construction is scheduled to start on Wednesday night, May 6, continuing until Friday night, May 15. The demolition is happening only at night. This will require Park View Avenue under U.S. 75 and the Community Center driveway under U.S. 75 to both be closed each night from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Both roads should be open during the day throughout this time. During the closures, drivers can cross U.S. 75 by Eldorado Parkway and Virginia Parkway.

As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.

Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
