McKINNEY (Feb. 6, 2015) — As part of the ongoing Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of the following closures:
Park View Avenue and Valley Creek Trail closed Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015
Weather permitting, TxDOT plans to close Park View Avenue and Valley Creek Trail (not at the exact same time) directly underneath U.S. 75 from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 7, to set new bridge beams. Northbound and southbound main lanes and frontage roads should remain open throughout this time. The Community Center will be accessible from the northbound frontage road throughout the day.
Ramp from the SRT to Northbound U.S. 75 closed starting Monday, Feb. 9, 2015
Weather permitting, TxDOT plans to close the connector ramp from the northbound SRT to the northbound U.S. 75 main lanes starting Monday, Feb. 9 until April 2015 to allow construction to continue. During that time motorists will detour onto the northbound U.S. 75 frontage road then continue underneath Eldorado Parkway to the next northbound entrance ramp near the movie theater.
As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.
Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
