The concrete placement on the Stacy Road Overpass Bridge will begin Monday, May 9. Since this is overhead work, it requires various closures of Stacy Road under U.S. 75 and U.S. 75 frontage road in the area. See the following:
- Monday, May 9: Expect a full closure of Stacy Road under the U.S. 75 overpass for the overnight hours on between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning.
- Tuesday, May 10: The frontage road from Allen Commerce Parkway to Stacy Road will be closed from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Southbound frontage road traffic will be detoured from the frontage road to Allen Commerce Parkway to Chelsea Boulevard.)
- Tuesday, May 10: The frontage road will be closed from S.H. 121 to Allen Commerce Parkway from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
- Wednesday, May 11: The frontage road closed from S.H. 121 to Allen Commerce Parkway from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
A police presence will be at the intersection and detour signage will be in-place to direct traffic. Message boards announcing this anticipated closure have been placed on Stacy Road. Weather may play a factor. The workers will work in a light rain, but they will postpone this schedule if it storms.
One of the major components of the construction on U.S. 75 involves a process of “ramp reversals.” As traffic in our area has increased over the years, longer stretches of roadway have become necessary to safely accommodate the number of motorists entering and exiting U.S. 75. The first major ramp reversal occurred on the southbound side between McDermott Drive and Bethany Drive which was completed ahead of schedule in mid-December 2015.
Over the next several months, similar closures will occur southbound near Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road, and northbound between McDermott and Bethany drives.
