McKINNEY (July 28 2015) — As part of the ongoing TxDOT project to widen U.S. 75 from the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) to White Avenue in McKinney, TxDOT has informed the City of McKinney of new dates for the following closures:

White Avenue Under U.S. 75 Closures This Week – New Dates

Weather permitting, TxDOT will close White Avenue directly underneath U.S. 75 three times this week to place beams for the new White Avenue bridge. The closures will be:

  • Tuesday, July 28, at 9 p.m. to Wednesday, July 29, at 5 a.m.
  • Wednesday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During the closures, drivers can cross U.S. 75 at U.S. 380 and Virginia Parkway. The U.S. 75 main lanes and frontage roads are expected to remain open throughout the duration of this work. However, delays are anticipated and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Additionally, on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the traffic pattern will be reconfigured at the Eldorado Parkway/U.S. 75 intersection. There will be various lane closures during this time for work in the median and on signs and traffic signals.

As a reminder, this TxDOT construction project to widen U.S. 75 from the SRT to White Avenue in McKinney to four main lanes in each direction and three frontage road lanes in each direction will provide much needed extra capacity through McKinney. The project is anticipated to be complete in January 2016.

Please be safe when traveling through the work zone and always observe traffic warning signs.
