The winning flavor of ice cream from the Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank-Off is going on sale to the public.

Cindy Johnson, Executive Director of Chestnut Square Historic Village, says that Henry’s Homemade Ice Cream in Plano will be producing Banana Fana Fo Fana, which was this year's overall winner and features real banana in a creamy base. Grape Nuts cereal adds a yummy crunch to the concoction.

The winning flavor was submitted by the Stonebridge Crankers, led by Amorette Cain.

This ice cream will be available in a quart size at Market Street and in a nine-ounce size at Chestnut Square.

McKinney-area businesses that would like to offer the winning ice cream for sale are invited to contact Johnson at Chestnut Square. Henry's Homemade Ice Cream will then deliver your order to your door

Henry’s prices for the ice cream will be:

  • Nine-ounce cups: $2.10
  • Quarts: $5
  • Three-gallon containers: $35.25

The three-gallon containers are great for serving ice cream by the scoop, Johnson says.

And, Chestnut Square receives $1 for each quart and gallon sold, which goes toward maintaining the Doc & Clyde Ice Cream Freezer exhibit.
