About Community Garden Kitchen at Holy Family School

Our Mission is to provide nutritious meals to those in need in a safe, welcoming place. Community Garden Kitchen (CGK) will build a freestanding commercial kitchen/dining/multipurpose facility, in East McKinney at the site of both Holy Family School and the McKinney Community Garden Association growing plots. The Kitchen will serve the students of Holy Family's preschool by day, and anyone in need of a meal, on evenings and weekends. 15 percent of our neighbors in Collin County do not have enough to eat and on average, experience having 24 percent less food than needed for adequate nutrition (Source: North TX Food Bank). CGK will be the first facility in McKinney open to serve anyone in need of a freshly prepared meal "right now." Our vision is to share both our current capital fundraising efforts and future meal preparation/ service efforts across the entire McKinney/Collin County community. Community Garden Kitchen currently operates as a committee of the Board of Holy Family School, and we are in the process of becoming a Nonprofit Corporation in Texas and obtaining 501(c)(3) status.
