McKINNEY (Jan. 26, 2015) — fILTER(ed), a new craft coffee and music house, will hold its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 29 as part of a three-day grand opening.

The ribbon cutting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29 at fILTER(ed), located at 218 E. Louisiana St., Ste. 400 in Historic Downtown McKinney. During the event you will get the opportunity to taste a few fILTER(ed) beverage and food offers, tour the space and grab a fILTER(ed) token for redemption during the grand opening.

Those in attendance will be able to tour the 2,500-square-foot collaborative space and enjoy the 40-foot Brew Bar with complimentary hot, craft beverages, fILTER(ed) eats and nitrogen-infused cold coffee.

“We cannot wait to share more of the good and learn more about our wonderful neighbors and visitors,” said Desiree Hlavenka, fILTER(ed) founder. “Please come by and stop, sip and smile a moment, we might even tell you what the ‘water’ thing is all about.”

Grand opening activities are open to the public and will be held Friday, Jan. 30, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 31, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. fILTER(ed) incorporates a minimalistic design complimented with attractive and inviting features to include reclaimed wood paneling, original brick walls, large open-air panels and a baby grand piano.

fILTER(ed) was born from a progressive 20-year vision to bring the arts, culture and leisure together and foster a creative and collaborative "public studio." It should represent the community in which it shares. What better place to honor our daily rituals and craft our flavor personalities than beautiful, character-filled McKinney. We are so happy to be surrounded by the history and share in the legacy of our ever-growing community.

“We'd love for you to come in for a demonstration of our premium craft beverages and take a tour of our flexible space options to include a 25x14 back lounge and sound-proofed music instruction/recording studio,” Hlavenka said. “Our ‘open-lid policy’ encourages careful enjoyment of our baby grand piano. We want to hear our fILTER(ed) friends of all ages demonstrate their talent and further enhance the cultural influence we aim to provide."
