You are invited to enjoy a fun-filled evening of art, shopping, music, food and spirits during Second Saturday on Saturday, Sept. 8 in Historic Downtown McKinney.

Guests can explore local art galleries, listen to great local and regional talent, and enjoy fantastic food from some of the area's best eateries. Many businesses in downtown McKinney will keep their doors open until 10 p.m. for this monthly event.

Featured Art Events

Alternative Furnishings will feature local artist Joy Jones of Wire We Here Jewelry Creations; stop by and see her works that she will have on hand throughout the evening.

Design Ten1 Interiors will feature Hilda, a jewelry artist that has an eye for the current trends while making beautiful pieces using stones, pearls and much more to create fabulous necklaces and bracelets. Hilda will be on-site with her creations; stop by Design Ten1 Interiors, 110 S. Tennessee St., for refreshments and to check out Hilda.

Garret Art Gallery welcomes its newest guest artist, Barry Mullins. Mullins will be featured from Sept. 8 to Oct. 10, 2012. Mullins is an oil painter who lives in Grapevine. His love of landscapes and wildlife are ever present in his paintings. His work has shown in galleries across the country and also in the American Country West book. Come meet Mullins and see his beautiful oil paintings on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 7-10 p.m.

Imaging on the Square welcomes local photographer John Hooper; he will be showcasing many of his wonderful works throughout the evening.

Laura Moore Fine Art Studios will feature husband and wife duo William and Carolyn Patterson. "The Still Life: His and Hers" features more than 20 original still life paintings from William and Carolyn. Meet the artists during the exhibition's opening night on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 7-10 p.m.

Orisons Fine Art & Framing Gallery will host glass artist and photographer L.C. Tobey's exhibit, titled "Mother Nature Fire and Glass." The reception for L.C. Tobey will be Sept. 8 from 7-10 p.m. 

Main Street Magic & Fun Company invites the public to its Cabaret-Style Magic Show at 7 p.m. (for adults and children) or 9 p.m. (adults only) in Magic Attic Theater. Tickets are $10 and include a complimentary glass of wine for those 21 and older. Seating is limited, so call 214-274-7802 to reserve your tickets.

Local Yocal Farm to Market will present "Matt's art of barbeque!" Everyone is invited to enjoy a BYOB steak dinner and live music on the patio during Second Saturday. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the store at 469-952-3838.
