Swim Lessons, Summer Camps, and More are in Full Swing at the McKinney Club

MCKINNEY, Texas – As members return to Craig Ranch Fitness & Spa, they have been greeted by a string of new, expanded and restored programming.

The club’s first in-house swim lessons, available in private, partner and small group sessions for all ages, began in June and the aquatics workout program Masters Swim reopened on June 1. Four new pickleball courts constructed during lockdown opened this summer, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a program that came to Craig Ranch in January, has reopened for limited classes.

During the facility’s temporary closure due to stay-at-home measures, the group exercise cycling studio has seen major audio, visual and lighting upgrades. A large projection screen, enhanced sound system and dimmed lights now allow instructors to control and customize the room’s ambiance for different classes, creating a boutique-level experience rarely seen at larger fitness facilities. The revamped studio opened to members in June with limited class sizes in accordance with our social distancing measures.

Many of these newer experiences were born of staff responding to member enthusiasm, said Fitness Director Taylor Lanni. There was a vibrant community presence surrounding swimming and pickleball and the club embraced it. By constantly expanding and improving on the facility’s offerings, Craig Ranch creates a space for all members’ interests and an opportunity for them to connect with programs where they will thrive.

"Here you have the opportunity to get involved in all of those programs. ... You’re still able to come to this one place and explore all of those experiences...” Lanni said. “We have a lot of things here that large box gyms don’t really have.”

Summer at Craig Ranch Fitness will be peppered with new experiences for members of all ages. The club’s Youth Center summer camps, open to members and non-members, began on June 1 and will continue through Aug. 7, bringing campers face to face with hands-on cooking, arts and crafts, science and team-building activities.

Our instructors will also offer multiple adult athletic clinics over the next few months, including the triathlon training competition Try a Tri on Aug. 9.

Craig Ranch Fitness & Spa, North Texas’ premier destination for fitness and health, is on a mission to walk with its members as individuals, helping each reach a wholly fulfilling lifestyle and sense of well-being.

The club’s 80,000-square-foot facility and eight-acre property offer one of the most diverse and comprehensive lists of amenities on the market, including indoor and outdoor running tracks, functional training equipment, pickleball and tennis courts, dozens of group exercise classes a week, extensive personal training programs, recovery center, full-service spa, on-site Youth Center, and aquatic classes housed in the region’s only Olympic-size swimming pool. We fit well, and we become better together.
