A free health fair and blood drive with Carter BloodCare will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC).
97.5 KLAK-FM hosts a blood drive and health-living expo to increase health awareness through screenings, activities, materials, demonstrations and information directly from local providers. Learn from professionals to help make more informed health choices in 2014!
Every day, close to 800 patients in North, Central and East Texas require timely blood transfusions. The majority of this blood comes from blood drives. When you give blood, you give patients in our hometowns a second chance at life or better health. Giving blood is also a great way for donors to learn vital information about their own health. A free mini-physical is given at the time of donation, which includes a screening of blood pressure, pulse, temperature and iron levels. Blood donors can also check their cholesterol level within days following donation.
The NextMedia radio stations, KMKT and KMAD, are joining KLAK in the event, where you and your family can talk to health professionals, see demonstrations, donate blood, get a quick massage and much more.
