Did you know you can create inks and watercolors from what you can find in your kitchen or garden? Join us in this workshop as we experiment and create natural colors from plants!
The first ink was thought to have originated thousands of years ago, using sources from nature. It is fascinating to read centuries’ old ink recipes and their careful calculations and combinations of materials to achieve the right tone and color. Now we just run to Wal-mart to grab what we want….
Join MillHouse Textile Artist Lesli Robertson as we explore how we can take plant colors to bring the traditional process of ink making into the 21st century. In this 2-hour workshop, we will use only organic materials throughout the entire plant to paint design journey. In the 2nd part of the workshop we will use our inks to create watercolor paintings inspired by nature.
Workshop price includes instruction, materials, and supplies. Wine and snacks will be provided.
