Humans have been practicing beekeeping since the Ancient Egyptians began keeping hives to collect honey over 5,000 years ago. When done right, beekeeping adds healthy honeybees back into the population, helping to bolster the gene pool. In addition, just two hives can be enough to pollinate an entire mid-sized garden of flourishing plants!
Meet local Beekeeper Cindy Peters of Dovetail Creek Bee Farm! Cindy will share her life as a beekeeper - how she got started, the equipment she needs, how she protects her bees, and how she harvests her honey. There will be plenty of time for questions at the end. Come and learn about the fascinating hobby/business that is helping to save our earth as we save our bees.
Lunch Bunch Speaker Series is an informal conversation around topics of interest to members and nonmembers. Lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. All are welcome. The event is free
