Volunteers Needed!

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, John Abston Chapter, McKinney is looking for volunteers on Saturday, December 16, to participate in the Wreaths Across America Day Ceremony, which will be held across the country at 11 AM CST. Here in McKinney, the event will be held at both the Pecan Grove Cemetery, located at 1701 S. McDonald St, McKinney, and the Ross Cemetery, located at the corner of El Dorado and McDonald Hwy 5, in McKinney. Volunteers should arrive at 10 AM at either site to check in/receive assignments for wreath laying.

Volunteers are also needed on Saturday, January 6 at 10 AM to remove wreaths from both cemeteries. Gloves are recommended. Wreaths will be composted.

Each December, on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1200 additional locations, in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad.
