How to Transform Comfort Eating to Healthy Eating
Recently, I asked my clients what they most wanted to know about weight management. The response was almost universal. They wanted to know:
How do I deal with comfort eating?
How can I find healthy alternatives to the sugary, calorie-laden foods I love to snack on?
Many of us are aware of what we need to do to lose weight in a healthy way.
Here's the problem, though: Our old habits, our urge to go to the refrigerator to find comfort foods that will make us feel better, take over. And then we end up paying the price for a brief moment of pleasure in excess weight and disappointment in ourselves.
Most of the time, though, it isn't even about the food. It's about an emotion, a feeling we're trying to soothe WITH the food.
And sure, a snack will ease those emotions in the moment. When the food has been consumed, though, we're stuck with the guilt and shame of having "slipped up" on our healthy eating habits AGAIN.
So it becomes an endless cycle: Get stressed or sad or depressed, eat an unhealthy meal or snack to feel better, feel better for a short time, then get stuck in feelings of guilt, shame and self-hatred because we can't seem to stick to our healthy eating habits.
So how do we stop this seemingly endless spiral of self-sabotage?
How do we change our routines and manage our emotions so we are naturally able to make healthier choices long term?
It's actually easier than you might think, and I'll tell you all about how to ease your emotions and stop eating your feelings for good in my webinar.
