McKINNEY (Oct. 28, 2014) — The PREP School of McKinney is quickly approaching its first anniversary and is planning a Family Fun Festival to celebrate! This free event is open to the public and will be held on Friday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 5317 W. University Dr.

The celebration will feature family friendly games, activities, food and a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting The Samaritan Inn. “We are thrilled to be part of the McKinney community and what better way to say thank you than to host a family friendly evening and help raise money for a great charity in our community,” says owner, Dave Golden. “Our management team will also be available for school tours and to provide information packets as well, if you are interested in learning more about The PREP School.”

The PREP School of McKinney opened its doors last year and enrollment has been steadily increasing ever since. Nestled in the back of the Wilson Creek Medical Park directly across University from the new Baylor McKinney Hospital, it is clear from the moment you first see the building that this is a school unlike any other. Once you walk in the front door, you are greeted with a magnificent view through the foyer and glass doors which overlook the outdoor classroom and splash pad. Just beyond the outdoor playgrounds is a sprawling green belt and nature area.

As you walk the halls, you encounter lively hues of blue, green, and orange. You also hear the mix of music, which we all know facilitates children’s development, and the joyful noises of children learning. Each classroom is stocked with developmentally appropriate toys and activities to enhance the student’s learning environment as well as a number of award-winning curriculums. Additionally, The PREP School boasts enrichment classrooms such as an outdoor classroom, art room, a preschool-sized gymnasium, and a tech room with multi-touch whiteboard technology.

As word continues to spread about this new age preschool, The PREP School reports that they are now enrolling at lightning speed. “We are excited about all of the new children who have joined our PREP family!” states PREP Director, Ashley Wilson. “We currently have plans to open the last two classrooms in the school by December so our most recent focus has been on hiring additional teachers who meet our extremely high standards for education and experience.“

“With high quality education at the forefront of The PREP philosophy, we are extremely selective with the teachers we entrust with your children,” added Jennifer Ghent, the Assistant Director, “or as we like to call them ‘PREPtastic teachers’!”

“We hope you will make plans to join us for our free Family Fun Festival on Friday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and experience what everyone is talking about. We are certain you will not be disappointed!” concludes Ms. Wilson.
