McKinney vs. McKinney Boyd

McKinney Boyd (6-4, 3-2) earned a playoff spot on Friday with a 56-21 win over crosstown rival McKinney (5-5,1-4).

Boyd will face Jesuit (8-2, 5-2) next week in the bi-district round. 

Bryan  Driskell ran wild, scoring seven rushing touchdowns for the Broncos en route to a 330-yard rushing performance. 

McKinney was led by quarterback Robert Somborn, who threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns - two to Connor Fuentes and one to TV Williams. 

Boyd led, 28-14, at the half. 

Besides the Broncos, other playoff teams from District 10-5A include: Allen, Plano and Plano West.

McKinney North

The Bulldogs (3-7, 3-4) closed out their season with a 62-24 romp over Denison (2-8, 2-5) on Thursday at Ron Poe Stadium. 

Ronald Jones and Justin Jones led North with three rushing touchdowns each. Justin finished with a game-high 245 yards rushing on 32 carries. Quarterback Ben Dutze completed 7-of-7 throws for 90 yards, with two touchdowns to Marcus Nobles.

Marc Bresnahan's 65-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter gave the Bulldogs a 21-3 lead.
