The school bell is about to ring, and it is time to welcome new teachers to the McKinney Independent School District.

Because the start of the new school year is always hectic, the McKinney Chamber of Commerce invites the community to slow down for a couple of hours, support its school district and meet the new teachers who will influence future generations.

McKinney Teachers Shape the Future Through Education

This year’s theme of the new teacher breakfast is “Superheroes.” McKinney ISD’s teachers are changing the lives of children every day. They shape the community's future through education.

“You can’t have great schools without great teachers. I believe very few professions, if any, have a greater impact on a community or society than a teacher. Teachers shape the lives of young people every day, and their influence is felt for decades after the student leaves their classroom,” says McKinney ISD Board President Curtis Rippee.

Dr. J.D. Kennedy, McKinney ISD Superintendent, will introduce the new teachers and give a preview of what is to come in the new school year.

The Business Education Teacher Breakfast will be held at McKinney Boyd High School on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m.; $35 buys breakfast for you and a teacher. To register online, please click here.
