The Collin County Master Gardeners Association, an integral part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M University System, are happy to announce they will be awarding one (1) $1,000 scholarship for the 2013 academic year to students interested in the study of horticulture related fields. The scholarship will be awarded on or before by May 21.

The scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors (Class of 2013) who are residents of Collin County. The award is available to students who intend to select as their college major any one of the following: Botany, Entomology, Environmental Science, Forestry, or Horticulture.

Applications, accompanied with a 400-word essay describing the applicants’ college goals, and two teacher references, must be received by Dr. Greg Church, Collin County Extension Agent for Horticulture, Texas AgriLife Extension Service – Collin County, 825 McDonald Street, Suite 150, McKinney, TX 75069, no later than 4 p.m. on April 26.
