McKinney, Texas - After 13 seasons leading the McKinney North Bulldogs under the storied lights of Friday
nights in Texas, Coach Mike Fecci is stepping away from the gridiron for a broader leadership role. Last week,
McKinney ISD announced that Fecci had been named the district’s new associate athletic director.

Fecci arrived at McKinney North 16 years ago to serve as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator under
Shawn Pratt, who went on to become athletic director and who is now the MISD assistant superintendent of
student activities, health and safety. When Pratt moved into the athletic director position, Fecci was chosen as
his successor.

As only the second head football coach in McKinney North history, Fecci has led the Bulldogs to the playoffs
nine times, won two district championships and has been named district coach of the year twice.

"Mike Fecci has successfully led the McKinney North football program for the past 13 seasons, and I am excited
to use the same leadership skills he’s exhibited at North as a resource to all eight of our secondary campuses,”
said MISD Athletic Director Jennifer Frazier. “Mike is the ultimate representation of McKinney ISD Athletics in the
way he pursues excellence in all his endeavors, while building quality relationships with his athletes and his coworkers.
The experience he brings, along with his skill set, will be a driving force for future growth in our athletic
department.”

Fecci, who played football for four years at Hardin Simmons University, coached at Rowlett High School and
Irving MacArthur High school prior to his arrival in McKinney.

While he may be stepping away from his role as the head football coach at North, one can be sure that his heart
remains. Amy, Fecci’s wife of 23 years, is a teacher at McKinney North, and his daughter Brinkley, who is a
member of the Guard Dawgs and the True North choir ensemble, will be a senior there next year. Fecci’s son
Max is a football player and petroleum engineering major at the Colorado School of Mines.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this new opportunity with McKinney ISD,” said Fecci. “I count myself
extremely blessed for the chance to make this move in my career and be able to continue to be a member of this
great district. To have the chance to work along side Coach Frazier, Coach Keahey, Coach Pratt and the
wonderful staff at the athletic office is a dream come true.”
