Los Angeles-based producer, Scott Browning, has chosen McKinney chefs Aaron Thomas, Jason Ferraro, and Taylor Rause to participate in a new TV series A Night of Artists and Chefs.
Focusing on smaller communities across the U.S. with vibrant art and food scenes, each episode will feature three local chefs who will create a sumptuous meal with paired wines that will be served in a dramatic setting created by local artists who will transform an event space into an “art cocoon” that envelopes guests in a unique work of art.
Aaron Thomas, executive chef at Éclair Bistro, draws from his New Orleans influences to create a fine dining experience that has received numerous accolades. In 2016, Éclair Bistro was the first ever restaurant in McKinney to be invited to participate in Restaurant Week DFW.
Jason Ferraro, executive chef at Sugarbacon/Butcherboard, trained in Chicago with legendary chef Charlie Trotter, then continued to refine his culinary skills at hotel restaurants around the world. Jason worked at Hibiscus, and was chef at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Taylor Rause, executive chef at Rye, cooked his way through college at Appalachian State University. Honing his chef skills in the blossoming Raleigh, NC culinary scene, Taylor trained in a variety of cuisines and became an expert in the “small plate” dining experience.
“Trying to choose from McKinney’s talented pool of chefs was difficult,” says producer Scott Browning. “I selected Aaron, Jason and Taylor not only for their culinary skills but because they were committed to collaborating in the event kitchen to create a meal that complemented each of their strengths as chefs.”
The event will run for five nights from January 30, 2019 through February 3, 2019 from 7:00-10:00pm at Gather, 207 E Virginia Street. Camera crews will be capturing the event on video and asking guests for opinions and impressions.
