McKINNEY, TX (May 6, 2020) —  McKinney Coffee Company, located in Stonebridge Ranch, has re-opened after temporarily closing for seven weeks and is proud to showcase some cosmetic changes designed to ehance the guest experience.

“When the Governor closed all restaurants due to COVID-19, and required carry-out only, that was not a viable business model for our shop and we decided to temporarily close. While this certainly presented a hardship, we used the time to make some low-cost, high impact improvements,” said owner Joy Booth. “In particular, we painted the walls a cozier color, truncated the counter top to allow for more seating, improved the lighting by lowering and installing new fixtures, and installed a television. This increased the space and environment for private parties, and the television allows hosts to showcase slide shows or presentations while they gather.” Adding that private event rentals have grown in popularity, Booth noted “we now can offer guests having rehearsal dinners, or business professionals hosting presentations, the chance to electronically display photographs of their loved ones or services,” which has been a common request.

With its re-opening, McKinney Coffee Company is following all of the Governor’s and the CDC’s health and sanitation practices, and has committed to the McKinney Restaurant Promise, along with others in the newly formed McKinney Restaurant Council.  While it welcomes back guests to in-house dining, the shop will also provide curbside delivery until capacity restrictions are further eased.

And while renovations may have changed the look, the shop continues to offer all that guest have come to love. This includes a daily breakfast menu, including chicken and waffles, breakfast tacos, omelets made to order, vegan options, and a selection of kids’-sized portions. In addition, the shop serves a full lunch menu from its neighbor concept, E.J. Wills Gastropub. Further, with a full liquor license, McKinney Coffee Company can also offer guests and private event patrons a full bar menu and “Kicked-Up Coffees.” One of these, the “Peppermint Dan,” uses hot coffee as its base and adds peppermint syrup, Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, and whipped cream on top.

Catering for off-site events, such as business meetings or parties at homes or offices is also available, with details on the shop’s website.

According to Booth, “while guests are enjoying their food and drink, they can also borrow or donate books courtesy of our Little Free Library, or select from one our retail items, such as hand crafted jams, jellies and salsas, or our very own McKinney Coffee Company ceramic mugs and shirts, which make perfect gifts!”
