McKINNEY, Texas – The McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is proud to welcome Blount Fine Foods, a manufacturer of hand-crafted soups, entrées, sauces and side dishes for retail and food service, to McKinney. Earlier this year, Blount Fine Foods acquired the former Food Source LP building and has now announced expansion plans that will create an estimated 85 new jobs in McKinney during the next three years.
The project will involve expansion of the existing building by up to 20,000 sq. ft. in the first phase of construction and up to an additional 50,000 sq. ft. in the second phase of their expansion project. Blount is currently adding new equipment to the existing building to become Texas’ first large fresh soup producer.
“We are proud to have Blount Fine Foods in our community and as the largest fresh soup food producer in the state of Texas. Their investment into the community through creating new jobs, investing in new equipment in an existing building and through their involvement in community charities and fundraisers is a true testament of the types of companies we look to attract to McKinney,” said Darrell Auterson, MEDC President.
MEDC offered an incentive of $510,000 to Blount Fine Foods that is dependent upon capital expenditure of not less than $6,750,000 for new building improvements and not less than $16,450,000 for new taxable business personal property.

Blount Fine Foods is a family-owned and operated company that has been processing food since 1946. The company is headquartered in Fall River, Massachusetts and currently employs 400 people.
